Advanced Prompting

I came across this letter doing the rounds online. It’s not unlike how I imagine GPT interprets some of my requests.

There are over twenty advanced prompting techniques designed to get better results from ChatGPT. Evidently, spending a few extra minutes explaining what one actually wants to build leads to markedly better outcomes.

AI systems today are sensitive to how questions are posed. The AI’s attention layers assign weight to each word and use that weighting to generate what we see.

Precision prompting also matters at scale. Ten prompts consume about 3.4 watt-hours of energy, which is roughly the same as running a 10-watt LED bulb for 20 minutes. With hundreds of millions of daily users, the occasional ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ add up to what the OpenAI team described as“tens of millions of dollars well spent”.

The following GPT is the Prompt Architect Pro. This GPT is trained on OpenAI’s Advanced Prompting Guide and recent research in the field of prompt engineering. It turns any prompt into clear instructions that GPT is more likely to understand and act on.

Prompt Architect Pro

Prompt Architect Pro is a custom GPT built on OpenAI’s Advanced Prompting Guide and prompt engineering research that has over 20+ advanced prompting techniques that it’s trained on.

What it does:

  • Prompt Architect Pro takes any input and selects 3 of the best-fit advanced prompting frameworks from a library of 23 prompting techniques.

  • For example:

    • Socratic Questioning Prompt to Red Team decision

    • Tree-of-Thought Prompt for GTM strategy

    • Pre-Mortem Prompt to stress test investment decision

    • Self Consistency Prompt for TAM estimation

Why use it:

  • GPT’s response hinges on the quality of the input prompt. Taking a beat to think about the question leads to more precise results.

  • It gets the best responses from GPT by turning any question into a structured, advanced prompt.

Output:

  1. Explanation of The best GPT model to use for the workflow

  2. Two prompt options

  3. One bonus hybrid prompt that combines multiple advanced prompting techniques for deeper reasoning
